Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers has filed a lawsuit against Roblox, alleging that the popular online gaming platform has become a “playground” for pedophiles while misleading families about its child-safety measures.
The lawsuit claims that children under 13 can still encounter inappropriate content, including virtual strip clubs and simulated child exploitation environments, while predators use avatars and in-game currency to groom and blackmail minors.
Hilgers accuses Roblox of violating Nebraska consumer-protection and deceptive-trade laws by reassuring parents about safety while failing to implement effective safeguards. Roblox said it is committed to child safety and works with law enforcement and child-safety experts.
